At the heart of Thian Ling Chong Toh Tong lies the unique doctrine of Zhenkongjiao, or the Religion of the True Void—a syncretic faith that harmonizes the ethical grounding of Confucianism, the metaphysical depth of Daoism, and the compassionate wisdom of Buddhism. Unlike traditional temples that are often adorned with elaborate statues and idols, our sanctuary is distinctively minimalist. We believe that the ultimate truth is formless, and thus, we focus on the “Void” or Emptiness as the source of all spirituality.

Visitors to our hall will notice the absence of deity images; instead, the altar features five thrones representing our five patriarchs and walls inscribed with cosmological charts. Central to our symbolism is the placement of a clear mirror and a “Heart Lamp.” The mirror invites devotees to reflect upon their own true nature, while the lamp represents the eternal, inner light of the spirit. This absence of external idols encourages a shift in focus—turning the gaze inward to cultivate personal virtue and spiritual purity.
